With a small river called the Hiz running through the town, Hitchin is a quaint medieval market town with pretty tudor and georgian buildings in and around the town.
Along with plenty of shops and places to eat, Hitchin is on a main railway link to London Kings Cross and the Eurostar terminal and has easy access to the A1 and M1 motorways if you are travelling north or south by car. You can also find a Museum, an art gallery and two theatres, as well as weekly town centre markets bringing many visitors into the town from the surrounding area. It is also home to a festival held every year called Rhythms of the World, which lasts for three weeks.
If you're interested in sport, the Town also offers a Rugby Football Club, Home of the Hedgehogs, a Football Club, A Cricket Club and Blue Hearts Hockey club with two Swimming Pools indoor and the lido outdoor pool along with a fitness club.
